Don’t Forget Your South Carolina Towels

In recent years towels have become quite a popular item on South Carolina Wedding Registries. On survey says that 89% of South Carolina brides will put them on their registry. It might be tempting to choose towels on how well they will match your bathroom. It is wise to choose instead on durability and absorbency.

A towel that is 100% cotton with thick loops on both sides are the most absorbent. Towels with decorative weaves and velvet-like velour are slightly less absorbent, and towels made of synthetic fibers are even less absorbent. Many printed towels and towels with trim require special care to clean and should be considered decorative. A wise South Carolina bride reads the label on a towel, before adding it to her wedding registry.

Most South Carolina couples register for 3 or 4 sets of towels. A set of towels consist of :

  • A large bath towel
  • A medium hand towel
  • A small washcloth

Many South Carolina brides are adding extra-large towels, or bath sheets, because they are slightly larger than standard bath towels.

Add a few guest towels with fringe or a decorative border to your South Carolina wedding registry. Guest towels are available in lots of colors and designs (even holiday themes). These towels will add a nice touch to your second bathroom.

With all the towels on the market, how does a South Carolina bride choose? Simply unfold each towel and compare it’s size and how dense it is. Keep in mind that the thicker the towel the longer it takes to dry, but thicker towels are also more absorbent.

Washcloths are 12 to 13 inches square, but other towels very widely in sizes. It sounds silly but consider wrapping the towel around you in the store. Does it cover what you want it to cover? Is it to small? It’s better to look stupid "trying on towels" than to be stuck with a towel that is too small.

When picking out colors consider choosing neutral tones. White, off-white, and beige are always popular with South Carolina brides. Neutral tones give couples the flexibility to change the look of their bathroom, with out buying new towels. But remember lighter color washcloths can easily be stained when you wash your face, especially if you wear makeup often

There has been a recent trend of South Carolina brides opting for bold colors for their towels. Silver and copper metallics and shabby chic pastels are continuing to grow in popularity. The bathroom is just the place to let you creative side run wild. The days of the white monogrammed "His" and "Hers" towels are over. Try a creative mix and match with your towel sets. Or let your fiancé choose the look of one bathroom and you choose the look of another. A successful marriage is based on compromise and towels are a great place to start.
